Overview/description

.......what is this core competency referring to? Describe how it links in with the Digiteen Area of Awareness

The information below talks about the dangers of putting information about your children online. Also how many people's, now even infants', lives are connected to the internet one way or another.

Examples

.....Provide real examples from your school, country or from your research of how this norm and the Digiteen element impact on each other. These can be in the form of an image with text, a podcast, a short video, interviews etc.

Did you know 81% of children two years old and younger have some type of digital footprint? About 7% of them have an email address or a social networking page. Others are just photos that their parents put on the web as a way to boast about their child. Fisher Price also made a Twitter type of site ,for young children, called Twoddler. Since kids are starting to use computers at earlier ages, it's important for them to be aware of the dangers of being on the internet, and putting personal information, that everyone can see, on the web.
